The respec Guide for the Ministry of Sin.
Mission 1: defeat 25 CoT. This is easy. Most of the team heads to Cap Au Diable and kills some grey CoT. The team leader sits near the contact so they can pick up the 2nd mission.
Mission 2: defeat 3 named Elite bosses. Ceili can help us cut down on the time for this mission by searching for the named bosses and teleporting the team to them. While we do that we can earn some XP by clearing groups as we search. This is the quick way. The long way is to slog through the mission, something that will add about 20-30 minutes to the duration of the TF. We can decide this based on when we start.
Mission 3: kill the fucking tree. The safe bet is to slog through this map to the Tree room, since there are some obsticles that prevent us from using the Stalker-TP trick. The map is fixed, so the path remains the same and we made it through this part relatively quickly last night.
The Vine Room: Step 1. clear all CoT from the room, staying away from the center (and all vines, and the AV).
Step 2. dealing with the vines. One guide I read said you should damage most of the vines and then go around killing them all quickly. We found that they don't respawn that quickly, and that you can work your way around the room killing healthy vines. The key here is to stay together since the Vines and the AV do toxic damage.
Yes, that's right, I said Toxic. Toxic is normally seen only on the Vahzilok, but it's becoming more prevalent. That means plasma shield will be extremely key since it grants resistance. Brutes can gain some additional resistance to this type of damage by using their self heal. Defense boosting powers like Weave, which defend against all types of attacks, are the only ones which will help avoid this damage. Corruptors who start a fight against a vine won't be around to finish it. Keeping the group together so that the vines only attack brutes is the big key here.
For this stage the team should organize itself around the following configurations. One brute, one kinetics, and one thermal. Ceili can work with either team, but should probably avoid AS simply because the vines die quickly. Something else I realized was that there is 1/4 of the room that is within Line Of Sight of the AV. This is the most dangerous spot to clear Vines, the rest of the room is significantly easier. It _may_ be possible to clear vines away from the AV, in order to get the Vine counter down. Yes we would have to clear the vines in front of the AV anyway, but i'd prefer to reduce the risk associated with this stage. Comments on this strategy are welcome.
The last part is beating the damned AV. It's got a lot of hitpoints, but before we ended up wiping the team Woodchuck got it down to half HP mostly by himself. During this phase there are CoT ambushes and the fucking vines respawn. The team should split into two groups. Each group should look like what I described above, brute, corruptor, corruptor. The group that is attacking the tree should have Woodchuck, Anthropic, a healer, and Ceili. We'll call this the assault team. The second team should have Syn Esther, Genteel, and a healer. We'll call this team the clear team.
The assault team needs to get it's ass parked right in front of the tree and sit there. A healer should be able to keep Woodchuck upright, and I can use Mud Pots to keep the tree's aggro straight on me. The corruptors backing me up can take potshots at the tree, and Ceili can AS/Placate/AS it as often as possible.
The clear team will be busy doing two things. First, they will keep the vines away from the assault team. Second, they will watch for the CoT ambushes. When the clear team spots an ambush they need to do two things. First, they need to broadcast that info. Second, they need to engage it and attempt to pull it away from the tree, breaking LOS with the tree. Once the clear team gets the ambush moving away, the assault team needs to pull back from the tree and help clean up the ambush. With 7 people it's going to be a very large spawn, probably with 2 bosses.
With the ambush done, it's back to clearing and assaulting the tree. Hopefully it'll die soon and we can sell furniture made of it.
Ceili has an extra special job during this last phase. If neither of our healing corruptors have a combat rez ready, and someone dies, Ceili needs to be ready to move completely out of LOS of the tree, any vines, or anything at all and TP the stricken teammate to a safe place for rez. With the amount of crap we're looking at dealing with, we'll need a fallback plan for if we have multiple people die.
