You are being supplied with detailed files about the nature of psionics, its rules, etc. Anyone that has questions on any of this, feel free to ask away...

Can I spend EP to get a skill on this since I've been reading the materials?

Yes. It is called Psionic Sciences. I would prefer if you spent 1 pt to but familiarity this game, wait a few and buy a second point to get you to 11- and stop there - this stuff does take time after all....

Does the psychic barrier that they create block gasses?
How does the zombification power work? Does someone have to be seen to use it initially? If they only have to be known to the "caster" how far away can the "caster" be from the target?

Gasses - know it does not. Do not however start to talk me about knockout gas - it is one of my pet peaves....
Zombification - No one has ever seen it, nor does anyone have any idea how it functions. Probably the most insight on the matter to date would have to come from Blanca.

Yeah, or for that matter teargas. Fuck it, I don't want to capture him alive! Give me some sort of aerosol cyanide and we're done.

Uhm, yeah - read the link below - 129 casualties from the "knock-out gas." And I suppose Serin qualifies as a "mood stabilizer".... Also - might want to be careful when you aim the aerosol can at the Telekenetic - might have a bad habit of ending up in the wrong person's lungs - depending on how quick his reflexes are of course. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/01/24/1042911548343.html

From what I've seen (HBO documentary I think) - the Russian stuff is a real breakthrough towards "knock out gas." If they'd been ready to administer proper medical care afterwards (including IMMEDIATELY afterwards, like on the sidewalk) it would have been a MUCH lower fatality rate - much much lower.
