What is he doing in the Citadel of Oldtown?  Why did he look like Osney Kettleblack when he killed Pate?  How will he affect Sam?

I'm not entirely sure why you're positive it's Jaqen.  I mean it sure seems like someone's impersonating poor little stupid dead Pate, yes.  But as I recall reading any Maester with a link of Valyrian steel in it learned all about magic, spells, stuff like that.  Plus there's mage guilds across the Narrow sea and hell even the pyromancers guild knows spells... and now that magic is working more / again maybe one of the citadel's maesters is the one doing the Pate imitation?

Hey - no one is still on this board - but I don't care.  :-P

Could also be one of the other Faceless.  I also wonder whether Jaqen is some sort of rogue, the way that I am guessing Varys might be.  He seemed to have a lot of personality for "no one."  Anyhow just a thought...

Varys:  fuck if I know.  Dark, evil wizard man though I'll bet on that!  OK, "evil" is subjective.  Wink

We had follow up conversations IRL about this that didn't make it to the boards.  I think we all agree it's probably a Faceless One though not all of us agree it's necessarily Jaqen.  As I recall.
