I'm kind of disappointed in the two book thing.  I would have rather had a half one with a To Be Continued with all of the characters rather than just half, since the books are all To Be Continued anyway.

Yes! He's both a whiney exuse maker, AND a liar!!!! He completely left all the characters in this book hanging also, and thus, we have to wait for 2 more books before we can find out what happens to them. This solidly qualifies him as a fucker.

I think he was hanging everything on the whole Cersei/Church thing.  The Brienne ending was kind of pivotal, but not so much.  Other than that, the stories didn't really end anywhere that important.

Plus, starting the book with all those Kraken chapters and not following them up was kind of lame.

I thought he did a good job of wrapping up with Sansa for now, but he really left me annoyed over Arya. Also, I find it irksome that he did not tell the Onion Knight's story, but was sure to let us know that they offed him. Why would you write that story in THIS book then? *irk, irk* Makes it less desirable to know that story, knowing how that ends.

There aren't any good spoilers here.

Yeah, I've got a lot of trouble accepting that the Onion knight is gone.  Unless I see some dramatic reason for him to croak, it doesn't justify all the effort that's been put into him already.  Sure, I won't be too taken aback if he's dead, but unless I see it on-screen I won't believe it.

I'm also a little disappointed that he made such a huge (and cool) deal about Caitlyn Stark at the end of the last book but in this one she pops up for one tiny scene.  I wanted to hear more about the sufferings of the Freys.

Of course, my favorite characters are definetly Arya and Tyrion, so getting no dwarf and just a little bit of Salty wasn't very satisfying.

Why would you be surprized? He spent all that time in books and backstory, just to bump off most of the Starks! I am hoping his demise was a show for the queen, otherwise I shall think ill of him reading that story.

Yeah, I don't think Davos is really dead.  As we learned with Theon, just because someone hangs a body on a wall, doesn't mean it's the right body.  Lord Manderly could have just chopped the fingers off some dead criminal and hung him off the walls of White Harbor.  With Robb dead, and his both his heirs "dead" too, I'd think White Harbor would be more likely to follow Stannis than the Lannisters.  I'm betting Davos' death was just a ruse so Lord Manderly could buy back his son.

Trying to think of the one word Brienne would scream with her last breath is driving me crazy.  I don't think "mercy" or "yield" would get her very far with Undead Caitlin.  Who knew Caitlin could become an even bigger bitch than she already was?

We still don't know what happened to Theon after A Clash of Kings!  Is he dead?  Is he alive and being tortured by the Bastard of Bolton?  I was hoping some of the Kraken action would touch on that.

I did think it was interesting that Euron Crow's Eye has been drinking the shade of the evening that the Undying of Qarth loved so much.   I don't think that Dany's going to go for a blue-lipped suitor after the Undying tried to eat her.

Lady Cait was one of my favorites! Tongue  She TOTALLY has every right to be one pissed off Bitch (capitalize that would ya?)  I like Brianne too, but I think she is absorbed in her own morality to keep herself safe in this book. I don't know what she could say, but I hope it saves her ass.

I assumed she yelled "Jaime," but that's just me.

I think Theon will be in the next book, since he's in the North, in theory.  I bet Osha and Rickon hook up with him.

See, if she was going to yell a name, I'd guess "Renly".

It would be just GRRM's style to end up with Osha rescuing Theon.  I wasn't sure if we'd ever hear about Osha and Rickon again, Rickon seems too young to have his own point of view narration, and Osha didn't seem like a major enough player to get her own POV.  Of course, if they do end up hooking up with Theon, it could be from his POV.

Personally I hope Theon is dead.  Wink  *mumble*

If Davon is dead, won't we be reading chapters in the next book leading up to it?  I mean it'll seem much more intriguing that way.  Maybe.  I dunno I agree he certainly may be alive 'n well but I'm betting not.

Catelyn might be one of the main characters in the next book right?  Maybe?

SERIOUSLY if Arya is blind permanently...  jesusfuck I don't know man.  I don't know if I can handle that.  O_O

OH ALSO.  Could Brienne have yelled for trial by combat?  Although I dunno how w/ one word.  And while that worked for the Hound, the lightning lord's men are a good deal different now.  Fucking Lem ZOMG!  OK, I don't actually think she yelled for trial by combat.  She must have yelled a name right?  Someone's name?

Maybe she yelled, "Littlefinger" having made a guess as to Sansa's whereabouts, and that's certainly a name that would get Catelyn's attention.  Fuck if I know.

Hey wasn't Rickon headed for White Harbor?  Huh, that's really not good if what they say is tr00.  Maybe Davon died helping get Rickon out or something.
