I played during beta dominator mind/ice and mind/psy enjoyed both, was wondering if anyone had any thoughts if one would be more favorable?

Tough call there.  Most folks are lacking in deffense for both of those areas; but a lot of the toughest guys in PvP have status protection, so getting your holds off may be hard.

A lot depends on what type of PvP you're building for.  In the zones you'll be fighting more tanks and scrappers with stupid mad status protection.  In the arena, probably more villians, and they don't seem to be as solid on the resistance front.  Either way, you are going to want to get your domination up as fast as possible because of it's boost to magnitude for control effects.  Too bad you'll only probably be able to get it off once in a fight though, since the power takes about 5 min to recharge.

I'd look for:

a) High damage per attack (avoid DoT if possible)
b) Good attack recharge speed.
c) Quick animation times
d) AoE/Cone attacks

I don't know if non-primary control type powers will assist in building up domination.  If so, I'd check to see which one of the two has the most 'control' effects.

One big thing to keep in mind about control type ATs in PvP is that you can't chain hold anyone, I can't remember if you can chain mixed control powers either (sleep to hold to imob and back to sleep).  One thing I did learn is that you can chain TP Foe, and that is fun.

I think I'd go for Psy. personally.  I'd see if you can chain control effects and if non-primary helps with the domination.  If so, I'd probably build in SSpeed, TP or Pressence, Stealth, and Fitness.  The pressence pool would give you taunts and fears, which are always good, and as I said, TP Foe just messes with people.

Sorry this wasn't more organized, just some thoughts on control ATs in PvP, with limited recolections from the few times I got Salt. in the arena.
