Welcome, everyone, to a resurgence of the Restaurant Club. Folks have been chatting about it, rumors have been flying, but now it's a reality.

First, we have a choice.  A few of us have been talking about taking the plunge and going to Inn at Little Washington. This would need a Saturday because of the travel distance, and it would need to be in December for everyone to save up their pennies.  On the pro side: a fantastic menu, proported to be the best in the area. On the con side: finding a date in December may be tough.  Perhaps we should save this for January?

If we don't do Inn at Little Washington in December, or even if we hold off on it until January, I would suggest a smaller, more reasonable Restaurant Club selection for November, like 2941 Restaurant (American/French - http://www.washingtonian.com/dining/Profiles/2941rest.html), Colvin Run Tavern (American - http://www.washingtonian.com/dining/Profiles/colvinrun.html), Bistro Bis (French - http://www.washingtonian.com/dining/Profiles/bis.html), or Makoto (Asian/Japanese - http://www.washingtonian.com/dining/Profiles/makoto.html).

Second, who's interested?  Chime in with thoughts if you are.

I've been to Bistro Bis' sister restaurant Vidalia, which was fantastic, so I'd love to try Bistro Bis as well. Their menu is online here: http://www.vidaliadc.com/bistro/.  2941 Restaurant also looks very tasty (menu: http://www.2941.com/2941docs/menu.html.  From a vege-non-pesca perspective, Colvin Run Tavern (menu http://www.kinkead.com/colvin/colvin.htm) and Makoto don't seem to have much to offer me.

The Inn at Little Washington is excellent! I would suggest that we plan for January or even Febuary because they are always booked up in December.

I enjoy good food of all kinds, so anywhere would work for me. I would agree that January would be best for the Inn at Little Washington.

Dude ... Bistro Bis has a cheese course!  I vote we go there.  Sometime during the week of November 14th.  What say you?

Bistro Bis = yes.

Week of 11/14 = no.

I'm on-call from the 16th through the 23rd, so that's not a really good week for me.  Getting paged in the middle of dinner would be teh suck.

What about the week of the 7th?  Are weeknights or weekends better?

I am definitely in for Inn at Little in January - no question there.

Bistro Bis is a probably for the 11th - I just need to check on some shit.

Colvin Run Tavern is overrated IMHO - I like Kinkead's first restaurant (creatively named "Kinkeads") much better - Colvin Run is just sort of bla.

The 11th is a week away, we should get a headcount and make reservations.  Mark and I are in.

How expensive is it?   I like pizza, I'm no Communist.  Wink   I'm just not into paying four star prices for it.

It's a 10~15$ an entree place.  The filet will run someone about 25$ and I think that's the most expensive thing on the menu.

It's not a four star place, but it's a good, inexpensive, yet still yummy (from what I hear) alternative to sandwhich on off-months in between higher priced outings like The Inn. Smiley  Shall we try this for December, then? Who's in?

Although the menu is not good for the Jocelyn others may want to look at Chez Marc in Manassas http://www.chezmarc28.com/home.htm it has gotten some good reviews and is Zaggat rated. Unfortunately there isn't anything that is truly Veggie on the menu, tons of fish, no veggie.
