Scorched3D!  I didn't know it existed!  I thought to myself.... "Could that be Scorched Earth in 3D??  Could Otter be gracing me randomly with a chance to grab this 28meg frag fest of days gone by, updated and 3D rendered?  YAAAAAY!"

I mentioned this as a couple games, trying to get a group to play.  Even was running a server for a while on Scylla.  I can get it set up again if you're interested.

The Apocalypse mod is a lot of fun Smiley

I love that song!  Dave tells me that when they wrote the song they were trying to make something that a human couldn't actually sing, because she was an alien and all, and they were gonna electronically enhance what they needed too, but then she hit all the notes.

Not to disparage Dave's credentials, but a more referenced and equally un-authoratative source:

"The diva dance opera performance used music from Lucia di Lammermoor Part Two, Act Two, N. 14 Scena ed aria, "O giusto cielo!" and was voiced by Inva Mula-Tchako. However, Plavalaguna was acted by French actress Maïwenn Le Besco. As Plavalaguna is an alien, the music was scored with some vocalisations that are rumoured to be physically impossible, however in the documentary on the Special Edition version of the film it is stated that Inva Mula-Tchako's voice wasn't digitally altered. As a side note, Marie-Ève Munger from Canada, is known to have performed the complete diva dance opera in front of a live audience. The performance was at one time broadcast on television in the province of Québec as part of a show from a boxing event."

In the making of that movie, they showed how they made that song. The vocalizations were impossible for a human and the voice was never altered digitally. But when you combine 5 people singing, you don't have to alter one voice and you can make the range change pretty well. It is funny how the advertising never outright lies...but they certainly don't clarify if they don't want to.

*to clarify: The Opera section was normal awesome human voice...the "pop" section was mostly synth combined.

Is it in black and white, or is it just 'cause the bathrooms at work have grey tile? Smiley
