ok Now that I'm back to "normal" I think that the Primary way of controlling aggro in CoV will be Dominators, with a side helpping of Brutes.

Brutes just don't seem to be Tank ATs with the full Punchvoke powers and AoE taunts. The Fury makes them more blasterish with high Damage output, but doesn't allow for true duriblity of tanks.  I think that the play style will be Very diffrent for CoV than CoH, new leads into combat ect. Of course you can count on me having the highest debt Smiley and Running into things going psycho ;P

hehehe

What are the character types as of right now? Are they comparible to CoH in terms of direct parallels? or are they different enough to make it seem like a completely different game?

They have, Brutes, Stalkers, Dominators, Corruptors and Masterminds.

Brutes are like, say, Fighters in D&D.  Stalkers are like Rogues.  They are the two melee classes.
Dominators, I think, are controllers while corruptors are similar to blasters.
Masterminds summon shit.

You're still doing the same thing, but the ways you do it are different.

Yes the concepts are close to the old CoH AT's, but really, as you play you will find the diffrences. I wouldn't say the AT are the same after all stuff like Brutes having only one single person taunt, and not getting punchvoke keeps them from being "tanks" Think of Brutes are the new big damage dealer. Dominators can deal much more damage than controllers. You don't really have a striagt Blaster of Defender AT they are crushed into Corruptors. Masterminds are the new AT with tons of Minions and new ways to control them. Stalkers are like scrappers but they need to use steatlh to get the big critical damage, lucky for stalkers you get stealth as the first power in your Secondary Power pool. And then you can find out even more by getting into the open beta when it starts Smiley or by just hanging around the CoV board here !

Hope that explains more.

I was wrong with the statment "Brutes having only one single person taunt, and not getting punchvoke keeps them from being "tanks""
Brutes get a AoE Taunt like tanks and They have a limited Punchvoke. So Aggro Control will be easier. The Problem that I'm finding is staying alive, with Defenses and Resists as secondary powers, I just can't take that much damage.
