Russia House -- I've never been, but some of you probably have
O'Faolain's Irish Restaurant and Pub -- in Sterling, it just opened (and stays open until 2AM!) Maybe not restaurant club worthy, but maybe a lateish night alternative to Friday's or Amphora?

Been to O'Falains before. I really liked it. Ate Shepherds Pie and drank good Irish beer. I would go there again in a heartbeat. ~mark

Russia House - Decent, but not amazing. Great if you are in the mood for a crap-load of sour cream - and I have the same issue here to some extent that I do with Equinox - the price is a little high for the quality. My friend Christina's Mom runs a Russian place in DC (forget the name - but I could e-mail her) that is supposed to kick ass - and I am all about Russian food. Either way - much better then the Serbian Crown, which is kind of a hole.

There's also a German deli/restaurant out in DC called Cafe Mozart that I went to at the beginning of a bachelor party a couple of years ago. I felt the need to get the Hossenfeffer (which is, by the way, sweet and sour rabbit) in the memory of Loony Toons. Actually quite yummy.

Rob has also mentioned a Thai place in Bethesda (or Rockville?) in the past. I haven't had Thai food I've really liked ever, but I'm willing to try "good" Thai food.

Thai food kicks ass. I don't know of any specificially really good Thai joints - there is one in Fairfax I like (Sakoontra), but nothing to really write home about. I would certainly be willing to try a new one - Thai food is yummy.

I used to like Little Place Called Siam a lot, but it changed hands. Honestly, I am not sure if it was just misadvertised or something (maybe it was actually Siamese food?) but the food was very different then most Thai food I have had. Still very yummy. Anyplace that finds away to mix meat and peanut butter is allright in my book.

There is an INCREDIBLE Burnese place in College Park, that George/Nagamii introduced me to. It's called, oddly enough, Burma.
I have never eaten oriental-type food that good before or drunk coffee that sweet before...
I know it's a haul, for most of you, but I'd bribe you all with drinks/hangoutage/game night afterwards...

I can't imagine there being two Burmese places in College Park. If you do mean Mandalay, then you'll be excited to learn that they're moving to Silver Springs in a couple months to their newer, bigger spot.

Some of the best Thai food that I have had in the region is at a small hole in the wall joint called "The Lemon Grass" over in Alexandria. A bit of a drive, but it was really good the last time I ate there (a couple of years ago). Of course, I am not sure how authentic it is or what the quality is like now.

There's a new place at Lake Anne (Tavern on the Lake) that has tapas and a variety of entrees. We just had entrees (and a tapas thingy as an appetizer), but we were thinking about doing a tapas night at some point if people are interested.

It's sort of like Spanish Dim Sum. You order a couple plates of appetizer like things and share them, usually while drinking wine or beer. It's suppossed to be a hanging out thing rather than a pure dinner thing.
