Considering that if we have any night at all in October, it's gotta be on the cheap, is anyone interested in hitting the new Korean BBQ restaurant across from Tortilla factory?  I know nothing at all about it.  Totally Russian Food Roulette there.

I went to it on Monday.  The dinner part might be good.  The lunch stuff was fairly overpriced.  I ended up paying 15.00 for a pile of meat, a bowl of rice, and some assorted side dishes that I didn't touch and a soda.

Some Korean BBQs allow you to cook your own food at the table.  This place has that setup at a limited number of tables.

Korean BBQ is always yummy - but you are right, $15 is a lot.  There is a joint over across from Sully Plaza (with the exciting name "Super Buffet") that does the cook at your table stuff - and I think is all you can eat for $8.

Best place I have found so far for Korean BBQ is a joint called Yechor in Annandale - right at the corner of 495 and Little River Turnpike by a 7-11.  Good sushi, too.  Open 24 hrs frighteningly enough (not so sure about all-night Sushi).

Well, 15 is a lot for lunch.  I'd be more willing to spend 20-25 for dinner to try that part out though.

With dinner, all expectations are raised, including expense.

I like the idea of having a cheaper night in October for the obvious reason but also because I do enjoy going to ethnic restaurants quite a bit. In Philadelphia, I had the pleasure of working for a company that was located in Old City, where ethnic restaurants spanning the globe were all located within a 15 minute vigorous walk. Each Friday, my co-workers and I would go out to find a new ethnic place we hadn't eaten at before, and so during that time we ended up doing everything from the standard Mexican and Italian to the more exotic Indonesian and Afghani.

I'm game for a night at Korean BBQ and will leave it up to everyone else to decide which one.  Wherever we go, I think we should pick the place that allows you to cook the food at the table. I like the authentic experience.

By the by, several of us went to the Korean BBQ place that Otter recommended, and it was lovely!  Great service, fantastic food, not inexpensive but reasonably priced, and a lot of fun.  There was *way* too much food, so next time, we should think about splitting our orders.  Maybe one entree per two people?  Sitting every other seat was fun, too, in a goofy, "we're dorks" sort of way.  And our waitress was very fun.  Anyone who gives Brian a hard time is all right by me.  Smiley

We should add this to our rotation of places to go just for fun.

BTW - this place shut down - not so shocking since it was always empty.
