B,

Let's look at a situation.  I'd like you to confirm or deny what i've determined afterwards.
Prasad is going up against an Elf.  The Elf is one full movement away from Prasad.
Rather than spending two half phases moving, he decides to spend one half phase moving and the other half dodging (maybe the Elf is in a gang).

The next turn, he spends one half moving and the 2nd half attacking the Elf (turns out, he's in a gang).

In cases where you have no ranged attacks, does this make sense?  Obviously if the target is running away, this won't help.

Good idea or bad?

That's not a bad thing to do - although most people would say f-it and just take a full move and take their chances.  Basically you could:

1) Just take a Full Move and attack the next Phase.  You will not get a DCV bonus on Phase 1, but you will have your DCV at full for the whole movement.

2) Half-Move/Dodge then Half-Move Attack.  Your DCV is +3 or +5 (depending on whether or not you have MA) for one phase before you hit HTH, and you actually end up attack at the same time.

3) Move-Through.  You hit them on the first phase, but take some damage and a nasty to-hit and DCV penalty.  If they have comparable stats, they will almost definitely hit you next turn.  Definitely qualifies as the gutsiest move.

4) Move-By.  Same as above but not as extreme.
