So, I'm an introvert and I don't feel like posting this to the regular CoH boards.

When should I upgrade to DOs, which powers should I upgrade?

Well even a yellow DO is better than a green training / general.  So I say upgrade as soon as possible, but not at the expense of your other powers.  If you manage to just afford one DO for one power, and so all your other powers are full of yellow training enhancements, maybe not quite worth it.  I'd say try to keep the majority of your enhancements white, if not green.  THEN go for a DO (I buy a new DO everytime I've saved up about 6k of influence).

Coal's main problem is endurance, so my first like 5 DOs were just endurance reductions.  Then I went with accuracy for my two main attacks.  Then I replaced both of my damage enhancements with DOs in freezing rain, just cuz I like it - prolly woulda been better served putting 'em in my main attacks, but hey sometimes ya just gotta do shit for fun eh?  I've got about 9 now I'd say, anyway that's my take.

On that note, anyone know the exact percentage difference of different colored enhancements (like green vs. yellow vs. white) - or is the number all that matters and the color (with the exception of red, which means it's shut off completely) just to make things easier?  I'd know, but my strat guide has mysteriously disappeared.... >Smiley

Isn't it like a 1% difference per level?  So if you're level 8, and you have a level ten enhancement, it's 2% more effective than if it was a level 8 enhancement?

Yes - 1% positive or negative based on lvl difference.  So a lvl 10 is 2% better than a lvl 8 for a lvl 8 char.

Right, yeah but so the color means nothing at all except for red?

Not true.  Basically, the base % for a training enhance is 8%.  If it is max green it becomes 11%.  If it becomes min yellow it only gives 5% benefit.  All of the levels are relative to yours.  In other words, if you have a level 15 enhancement as a 12th lvl char it givs you an 11% benefit.  If you get to lvl 18 with the same lvl 15 enhance, it drops to 5% benefit.  The absolute level of the enhancement means nothing - it only matters what the lvl is relative to you.

BTW - DOs are at base twice as effective - so a Full Green DO is worth 19%.  SOs are double that.  And yes, a yellow DO is worth 13% vs 11% for a green generic.  Very nice.

Red enhancements give no benefit at all.

So, i've got 25k inf lying around.  Should I be spending that on DO enhancements?  Or should I just upgrade when I open up slots (like last night when i hit 15?).

Yeah when I meant the colors matter not at all, I meant that they're only used to help indicate your enhancement's state.  Kewl, well then in that case I say FIRST make sure you have no reds.

Then I dunno you can't really screw things up.  If you seem to be getting beat up a lot, concentrate on putting some DOs in your defense powers.  If you wanna hit a tad more often, put an acc DO in your main attack power(s).  You really can't go too wrong here.  Just keep in mind if you're level 14, and you have like 25k inf, you could buy like what... 17ish training enhancements that'll all give about a 9% bonus (base of 8%, then +1% cuz they're a level higher than you).  Or you could buy like 5 DOs for the same amount, which would give you like 16% increases.

So if all your enhancement slots were EMPTY, you'd be much better off getting the 17 or so training enhancements.   But since you've obviously already got lots, my official suggestion is to make sure nothing turns RED, and otherwise just start spending all your inf on DOs.

Also remember you can upgrade your training enhancements for free over time by just finding new ones on missions 'n shit.

Where can you buy DO's?  This is still a mystery to me, sadly.

DOs are sold at various stores around the city.  I tend to get all of mine in Steel Canyon, because i'm a mutant and the mutant store is right near the Yellow Line stop.  The store is called Subgenetics, and has a green logo.  I'm not as familiar with the other origins because I don't have a character that is high enough level for DOs yet. I think the various stores all sell DOs for three different origins.  So chances are like 50/50 if you find a store they got whatchoo need.  I go to Image Inc. by the Perez Park entrance in Steel Canyon.  Subgenetics (Bill/Brak/GroundHog's store) is in between Image Inc. and the Monorail (and maybe like 100 yards norther).  Yes, I said norther.

And now that I have my strat guide again (yaaay!) I know ALL THE STORES, MWAHAHAHA.  Which means I'm gonna go to Pandora's Box cuz that sounds hot.  >Wink
