Upgraded. How's it play? Any overt differences? Too soon to tell, I have only played for about 15-20 mins. The most noticeable difference is the addition of a new window on the maiin screen that allows you to buy/sell resources on the black market and increase the bounty against other players. Can't speak to gameplay differences yet. |

So, it's kinda lame, you have to install a loader client thing. Go to www.impulsedriven.com to get the client. I was able to install it on my laptop last week, but today when I try to install it on my desktop I am getting a wierd error when trying to install the loader. |

You launch Impulse and then you right-click on the S logo in the upper-left corner and select "Show Pre-release versions". Then you click on the My Games tab, select Sins and there will be an Update button in the lower right corner.

The game is definitely different. I kept losing cap ships until I create a completely mixed fleet. Then I had much more success.
I couldn't just spam LRMs and win. I needed carriers with fighters to fend off their swarms.

Sorta. It was vexing until I figured that out. I countered with several command carriers and shitloads of flakkers, in addition to a bunch of carriers.
Prior to that my kodiaks were getting slaughtered. I think I built 30 of them and had 6 left at the end.
The CPU is getting better at tactics. It chooses to regroup sometimes. It'll leave scouts parked on your worlds, and it will attack from different angles. It went through a wormhole, found a colony and then hit me from that side once. It also isn't prone to kneejerk reactions. I hit a colony and it gave it up, opting to keep it's fleet in orbit around a more important (tactically and economically) system.
