10 ounces bacon
1 large sweet onion
2 tablespoons minced garlic
small bunch fresh oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 large (10 ounce) ball of pizza dough
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
3 plum tomatoes

Prepare the ingredients: Chop large onion into small pieces. Measure one cup for use and store the rest. Pick oregano from stem. Measure 3 packed tablespoons and store the rest. Slice plum tomatoes thinly.

In a large skillet over medium heat cook bacon until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel; crumble; set aside. Pour off all but 4 tablespoons bacon fat. Add onions and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid evaporates, 7 to 8 minutes. Stir in crumbled bacon, oregano, salt and black pepper.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place bread shell on a pizza pan or baking tray. Using flour as needed, roll out into a thin crust, as wide as the pan will allow. Scatter tomato slices over shell. Sprinkle cheese over shell. Spoon drained bacon mixture over cheese. Bake until hot and cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.

Note: I've made some adjustments above based on what I thought the pizza was lacking. For example, this recipe includes three tomatoes... I only used two, and it wasn't enough.
